What are the tournament dates?
The tournament will take place during Labour Day weekend, spanning the following days ... Day 1 - Saturday September 1st, 2018 Day 2 - Sunday September 2nd, 2018 Day 3 - Monday September 3rd, 2018
Where is the tournament location?
The tournament playing site will be at the Palais des Congres, also known as the Montreal downtown convention centre. This is the same location where the tournament was held back in 2011.
What are the tournament hotels?
The hotel contracts are being finalized as we speak and will be revealed shortly. They will be in the immediate area and within walking distance of the Palais des Congres and Montreal's Chinatown. We will be instituting a STAY AND PLAY policy so please take note of the team requirements to be provided shortly. You will be able to book online directly from the booking links that will be provided by the hotel. We will do our best to make sure there are enough hotel rooms for all our participants.
How do I register my team?
We are preparing the process for registration and finalizing the team fees, and will provide those instructions and materials when ready. We are slowly building our players and participants database which will also involve the request and collection of important documentation (eg. birth certificate, passport information, documentation of ethnicity, etc ...). We are looking to take a more proactive approach around the application of eligibility and content rules, so your cooperation in providing these materials will be appreciated upon team roster registration. We recommend that all players have numbers on their jerseys and wear the same number throughout the tournament for identification purposes and provide those details at registration.
What ball will we be using for tournament play?
We will continue to use the same ball as we did last year, the Molten FLISTATEC.
What are the tournament formats and will there be a women's 9-man tournament draw?
We will have the traditional men's open division featuring the 9-man style of play, as well as the women's open division featuring the regular 6's style of play for the event. We will be reaching out to the respective representatives on the women's side to see if there continues to be a growing interest in a women's '9-man' tournament draw and can facilitate that if the demand and commitment is there.
Will there be any changes to rules and policies?
There will be emphasis on player safety and player code of conduct as these topics have a profound impact to all our participating members. We want to ensure that the experience is memorable for all the right reasons for everyone involved keeping in line with the cultural identity of our event.
